These case studies summarize a number of issues relating to gender equality, as part of the project “Advancing gender equality in scientific organizations” lead jointly by the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), the International Science Council (ISC) and the Standing Committee for Gender Equality in Science (SCGES). The five unions interviewed were the International Union of Biological Sciences, the International Union of Crystallography, the International Union of Immunological Societies, the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics, and the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research.
